Мнение о том, что пластиковые окна цельная конструктивная система, ошибочно. На самом деле окна ПВХ представляют собой оконную систему, состоящую из различных элементов, состояние которых и определяют качество пластиковых окон. 
Профиль ПВХ – основная и самая важная деталь, от которой зависит качество окон. Срок эксплуатации и эстетичный вид окна зависят от ПВХ профиля. Если профиль некачественный, то со временем под влиянием солнечных лучей может изменить свой цвет с белоснежного на грязно-желтый и т.д. Стекла соединяются между собой посредством абсорбирующего материала, впитывающего влагу из междустекольного пространства.

Чрезвычайно важен качественный монтаж пластиковых окон для того, чтобы все функции выполнялись в полном объеме, в том числе герметичность, звукоизоляция, сохранение инфракрасного излучения, т.д. Необходимо при монтаже окон использовать специальные изолирующие материалы (монтажная пена, герметик, т.д.).
